Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol Review

Ghost Protocol is the 4th in the Mission Impossible franchise and stars Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Paula Patton and I have to say straight from the off, it was every bit as good as its 3 predosesors with some people I have spoken to saying its the best.

Of that I’m not so sure, as I loved the first one, anyways, I digress..

The film is about an American Government undeground agency who are framed for a bombing in Russia and shut down because of it. Then said agency (IMF) go about clearing their name.

The plot itself is pretty straight forward, nothing too confusing for anyone on that, but what makes the film work was the chemistry of the cast and how everything tied in together. The film isn’t breaking any new ground, but it is a good take on Mission Impossible by Director Brad Bird, it’s fast paced and shot excellently well.

My only gripe with the film, would be that they tried to use Simon Pegg a little too much as the comedy relief and you don’t really get to see enough of the bad guy. All that being said, when Pegg got the comedy right, it was great.

This is a good solid movie for me, not a thinker, not going to win Oscars, but will win plenty of fans for the franchise and probably power another film, as they certainly set it up for one.
