Michael B. Jordan

The new Rocky spinoff ‘Creed’ has been in the mix for a while now and is currently filming under the direction of Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone.

Well now the film has been bumped up the calendar to late 2015 from a 2016 release, at the moment there is only a release date for America of 25th November, but hopefully we will set it this side of the new year in the UK also.

I wasn’t overly excited in this movie at first, I love the previous films and the character that Stallone has created, so I was worried they were going to take it a route I wasn’t keen on, but as soon as I seen that Coogler (director of the excellent Fruitvale Station) and Jordan were attached I started to get excited. Add to this they have the full backing of Stallone who will return as a trainer in the film, this has the potential to totally invigorate the franchise.

The film will follow Michael B. Jordan, the grandson of Apollo Creed from the first 4 films as he is trained by Rocky Balboa. That’s all we have at the minute, so I’m not sure what the overall story might involve, but I’m expecting many a training montage.

Creed, directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone has now confirmed release in the UK yet.
