San Andreas

San Andreas promises not only to be a star vehicle for Dwayne Johnson but also the first good disaster movie we have had in a good few years.

The film is a story of a rescue helicopter pilot (Dwayne Johnson) who races across the state of California to rescue his estranged daughter (Alexandra Daddario) in the aftermath of a massive earthquake.

Something I loved about both this trailer and the first trailer was the somber tone of the film and especially the soundtrack, this looks like we will be getting a 100% serious acting role from Johnson and although there will be plenty of action (I can only assume), it will be a good chance to once again see him flex his acting muscles like he did in Pain & Gain.

This is due for release the week after Tomorrowland so the only fear is that it could go under the radar a little as Disney is likely to score another home run with that film. But as a big fan of Johnson, I hope this is good and also does well.

San Andreas, directed by Brad Peyton and starring Dwayne Johnson, Carlo Gugino, Paul Giamatti and Alexandra Daddario is due in UK cinemas on 29th May 2015.
