The Expendables 3

I have never hidden my love for these films, the amount of childhood action stars in this franchise instantly makes it watchable for me. Then you throw in a couple of films that were actually pretty good and you end up with a franchise that is now spitting out its 3rd film.

The trailers for The Expendables 3 have been a little on the short side, but now we have an exclusive trailer that has all sorts of action and plot details, simply it looks excellent.

Going by the trailer, this could be the biggest budget of the franchise so far, this looks far better in terms of everything, it looks like Patrick Hughes (director of the upcoming Raid remake) has really got this one nailed, blending an older cast with a string of newer and younger faces. Here is a quick synopsis of the film.

Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables — but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.

The Expendables 3, directed by Patrick Hughes and starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Kelsey Grammer, Kellan Lutz, Glen Powell, Victor Ortiz, and Ronda Rousey is in UK cinemas on the 14th August 2014.
