The Man From U.N.C.L.E

For a while now I have been waiting to see what Henry Cavill was going to do with his acting career post Man of Steel, so I was interested to see he teamed up with director Guy Ritchie for a movie version of the classic 60’s tv show The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

On first viewing of the trailer, it looks like we are going to get something similar to Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes series, a cool looking film, good action and some comedy to round it all off. I think this could be good fun and with it being set in the 60’s its good to see how it all looks, but I’m still not convinced this will be a top earner at the box office.

The film also stars Armie Hammer who was excellent in The Social Network, but his first attempt at leading (jointly) a big blockbuster didn’t go so well with The Lone Ranger. There is also the up and coming Alicia Vikander who is gaining in reputation after her turn in the film Ex_Machina. All in all a young fresh cast that could make this is break out hit if all goes to plan for the movie studio.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer and Alicia Vikander is in UK cinemas on 14th August 2015.
