Well it’s now been confirmed that a 5th Die Hard is on the way, which means we get more of John McClane in his white vest. The original Die Hard is possibly still the best action film ever made, and the fourth incarnation was a very good film in the series. The only down point I can pick from the last film was the loss of realism (dodging planes), and with Director Len Wiseman expected to return for the next chapter that may continue. Then again that’s me trying to pick for errors in the film and I’m sure everyone could find their own pet hates in the film. Willis told MTV : MTV talked to Cop Out star Bruce Willis over the weekend and asked him about some possible sequels that might be in his future.
Willis told them, "I think we're going to do a 'Die Hard 5' next year." The fourth film was directed by Len Wiseman and earned $383.5 million in theatres worldwide in 2007. It was made for about $110 million. So where does he see John McClane going this time? "It's got to go worldwide. That would be my contribution to it," he said, adding that he would like to see Wiseman return to the director's chair.
I think they would be insane not to do another instalment of the franchise, maybe even to pass the torch over to a younger actor? Maybe I’m a little biased when wanting this as I’m a huge action fan but it has to be done, I just hope its done right, setting John McClane loose in the middle of Paris seems a good way to go. Writing this article reminded me of this song I found a while ago on YouTube, its absolute genious.
