John Krasinski

John Krasinski (US version of The Office) is being linked to one of the lead roles in Michael Bay’s new True Benghazi Tale, 13 Hours. There will be several leads in the film, but Krasinski is being linked to one of those.

I’m a fan of Krasinski but he hasn’t done much in the way of movies, but hopefully with Steve Carrell’s excellent turn in Foxcatcher people are taking notice of other Office actors for serious roles.

13 Hours story :

“13 Hours” presents, for the first time ever, the true account of the events of September 11, 2012, when terrorists attacked the US State Department Special Mission Compound and a nearby CIA station called the Annex in Benghazi, Libya. A team of six American security operators fought to repel the attackers and protect the Americans stationed there. Those men went beyond the call of duty, performing extraordinary acts of courage and heroism, to avert tragedy on a much larger scale. This is their personal account, never before told, of what happened during the thirteen hours of that now-infamous attack.

A screenplay by Chuck Hogan who also done the excellent The Town, directed by Ben Affleck leads me to think this could be the beginnings of a good film. I have never hid that I enjoy Michael Bay films, but this is likely to be less on the mega budget scale and be in the mould of his films Pain & Gain and Bad Boys, a lower budget affair.

No major confirmation of a release date or anything for the film, but it looks like they are putting the building blocks in place.
